Truck Ya!

We bought a truck, sold our house, hubs put in 2 week notice and kids started dental work. All the things I wanted to accomplish this week!  So go ahead and substitute the TR in Truck for an F cause that’s how this week feels!!!!

The house sold I can’t believe it actually happened, but not without headache up until the end. This buyers agent is just an incompetent person and at 15 min before our scheduled closing he wanted our lock box code to do a walk through. We were like dude your supposed to be at the lawyers office not the house, face palm!

Right after closing we went to look at a truck near by. It was everything we needed and didn’t have to drive 4 hrs out of state to get it, just 20 min down the road. It’s a Ford F-350 Dully crew cab long bed diesel, she is a beast. The seats are 1 long seat and you really could fit 4 small humans across each.

We bought the truck with a loan from a local credit union we were not members of. But $10 later I was and they granted us the loan, under 2%, ahh ya!  So we were able to keep the good rate cause the house most likely hadn’t showed up as sold yet. With a truck and an RV we no longer needed hubs job to obtain a loan for anything else so he put in his 2 weeks notice. I would had loved if that day they said see ya later. But they actually wanted him to stay until the end of the next month. That wasn’t gonna happen but he is riding out the 2 weeks as promised.

After that took girls to dental consult and dr. was way more optimistic then the first. At the next appt when he got in and got old filling out he said new decay was not as close to roots as X-ray showed so no mini root canal, yea!

In between all this we managed to go to 2 birthday parties and BabyLand General so it wasn’t  all work and no play!

The Universe is back on track and with these few but major things accomplished we can move on to all the other little  things that still need to be done before this journey can really begin. This week my goal is to secure sites from the 2 months after we exit out of North GA, wish me luck. So far it’s looking logistically trickier then I’d like.

Truck Truck Truck

Switch out the Tr for an F, cause that how this week feels.

Roadblock after roadblock seems to be the consistent theme this week, especially with our truck hunt. We were all prepared to make a trip to a neighboring state to look at one and upon calling to doublecheck it was still there and we were told it was out for inspection with no known day to be due back. I never thought buying the truck would result in a bigger headache then the RV. House closing is next week, hubs can’t quit job until we have this truck cause banks need a house and or jobs to give out loans. It’s a never ending cycle and something has to give!!

We also ran into problems with our garbage company. We scheduled a pick-up of our old mattresses. You call the day before your pick up day and they will send a separate truck around to get them. Well my husband swung by the house several days after this was due to take place and they were all still there. I called to inquire and was told it was my fault for not reporting it right away so they could not send out another truck in time to get these mattresses taken away before new alleged house closing. Basically they are saying it’s our fault they missed our pick up, ain’t that some amazing logic?  So hubs and his dad went to haul them off to a dump and pay a fee.  Should we send the garbage company the bill?

And to top it all off the girls dentist appt didn’t go well and now they both have a few cavities and a possible additional dental work. Have to get initial consult from a different dentist and get the procedures done all before we no longer have said insurance.  It’s just too much and I’m over adulting this week, did it for 4 solo days with kids and I’m about to explode. Kids appointment and house closing are same day, send me all your spare juju stat!

Silver lining where are you when I need you?

Hoping next weeks post will be all about the house closing going well, buying a truck, hubs putting 2 weeks notice in and dental treatments all finished!!  If only I could fast forward 7 days!

Here is Elli giving no Trucks:)

Everyday I’m Hustling!

Dang suburbia doesn’t want to release its grip on us quite yet. The Real Estate/Bank and Loans industry is such a scam, I may never buy a house again, or at least never sell one again. Super frustrating that 24 hrs before closing the appraiser finally shows up to look at what needed fixing for loan approval. Shortly after we get an extension email to push back closing 2 weeks. Man if you know that sending an appraiser out 24 hrs before closing will not result in the actual closing the next day why not reschedule as soon as possible?  We had a day off work specifically scheduled as well as childcare lined up.  Grrrr, I may have swore at our realtor a handful of times on the phone. I am as nice as apple pie when it comes to business until you mess with me one too many time. My Southern charm quickly turned to my New York roots and all the sassy attitude came flowing out.

Well our plans to get all the things vacated out of the house did not change. We had already set up utilities to turn off the day after closing so staying in the house would mean several phone calls and it wasn’t worth it. Girls and I are officially Fulltime in the RV while hubs is commuting back and forth to work from his parents house which is closer. He will give his 2 weeks notice once the house is officially sold.

While trying to think of the lesson or bright side the Universe may be trying to throw us with all this we are grateful for the additional 2 weeks and here is why. We still need a truck to pull our beast of an RV. We need to haul 16k lbs around and be able to stop 16k lbs in a timely manner when going over mountains.  We are buying used and want to finance. However banks usually like collateral like houses and jobs to hand out low interest rates. So this is our silver lining, use extra time to get this truck purchased. We were being pretty picky with our wants and needs but since time is short we’ve opened up our minds a bit. We need a Dulley, crew cab, long bed, 4.1, regardless of our make and model wants thoseare the needs without question.

Girls and I visited a near by waterfall today, this is why we are doing what we are doing!  It was so amazing and I love watching them explore and enjoy nature.

This weekend we have some big plans, I  made a trip to Ikea yesterday and purchased some furniture. We will be turning this rig inside out over the next few days. Stay tuned to next weeks post to hear and see all the pics!

Home Sweet Home

We picked up our RV and had a family member help us haul it up to the RV park we will be staying at for at least another month in North Georgia. Everything went pretty seamless.  My husband bought a power cord for the rig to connect us and get us energy. When he went to plug it in he had the wrong size. Luckily when he looked in the under storage he saw that the RV came with its own. It was on our listing of things to buy to prep for our new RV so not sure why it was in there unless it was their mistake. Either way I’m happy it was resolved quickly.

Oh and on my second trip up to the RV I realized I did not have the key to open the RV, just one of the exterior storage. That was a major bummer, hubs had to drive up during Friday night rush hour holiday weekend traffic to deliver it to us, we love him for that!!  We now have 3 extra sets:)

Here are a few pics of the state of our house. Most rooms are night and day, either cleared out or a hot mess. I shot this video in one of my clean rooms cause it’s my happy place at the moment.

I filmed a rough video with my phone I can share now but plan to unload the official GoPro one soon. Sorry it cuts out before I get to the master bedroom. All my talk of storage in the RV and the storage on my phone ran low and cut off:(((
